Valentines came a bit early to Prairie Creek this year so that our 5th graders, who are headed to Wolf Ridge, could participate in our time honored traditions.  The bags were made — visions of glittery excess — and placed around the gym.  As the children arrived, they rushed to give their valentines to classmates, friends, reading buddies and teachers.  The gym was filled with the good kind of chaos that makes one feel a part of something.  Love Bingo was played.  The Tunnel of Love as endured.  Valentines were read and one precious piece of candy consumed.

All too soon, it was time to put away the glitter pens and doilies for next year.
