Why I Love these Kids

IMG_0302Yesterday E.C. sprang up to me and said without taking a breath, "I just found a great quote in my book.  It's so funny.  I think we should have a poster where we put great quotes.  I'm going to make it, O.K?  Where should I put it?  I'm gong to cut out the quote I found and put it on."

"Sure," I said distractedly, trying to complete a QRI assessment with another child.

Ten minutes later, the poster was bubble lettered and secured to the white board along with its first quote.    Another quote was added a few minutes later.

Today many more students were suggesting quotes for the poster.  "I found one!" N.W. called out.  "What about this one?"  "This one's great!"

They were excitedly clustered around the poster, sharing what they'd found.  More than one student asked for the source book, "Oh, I've got IMG_0304to read that!"

And that's why your kids are awesome.
