About

I’ve been a teacher at Prairie Creek since 2002. Before that, I taught in Wilton, Connecticut and New York City. I received my masters in Elementary Education from Teachers College at Columbia University and my bachelors in English from Harvard University.

I became a teacher after spending several years in advertising and new product development. I was having a lot of fun creating new ways for people to spend their money but realized that I could have as much fun creating new ways for kids to learn. I have never regretted the decision.

I’m Michelle

I teach fourth and fifth graders at Prairie Creek Community School. We’re a public progressive school in rural Minnesota. I use this blog to share moments in our classroom and to reflect upon my practice.
