I teach at Prairie Creek because I love to work closely with my colleagues.  Amy, Cathy, Elizabeth and I team teach every day — sometimes teaching together in front of a larger group, sometimes teaching each other's students.  It's an exciting way to teach.  One doesn't experience the isolation that is so common in the elementary classroom.  I'm constantly questioning and tweaking my own practice based on the observations of my peers.  I always have resources when I have a question about a student; I'm not the only teacher he or she has.

We've been teaming a lot more closely in the past month or so.  Both math and theme are times during the day when our classes are intermingled.  While exciting things have been happening, I've been finding it difficult to write about.  After all, the experience I relate may not be the exact same one your child had since he or she may not be in my group.  To help remedy the communication gap, I hope you'll read what I have to say but also periodically check out the other 4/5 blogs.  I've included them in a list at the right of this page.  Some of the entries are Kestrel or Robin specific but often, they'll relate something that might have happened when your child was in their class.  And always, Amy and Cathy's thoughts are interesting to read.
