Rock to the Max

Every Tuesday and Thursday the 5th grade band members play a little concert after lunch, often in the Herons.  A crowd gathers to hold sheet music, watch, request songs, and cheer for the performers.  On Tuesday the concert became a bit more formal.  Band director Roger Jenni visited Prairie Creek, and the band kids played a concert in the gym for the rest of the Big Birds.  The concert was to encourage the 4th graders to sign up for band and teach them about the different instruments, but the 4th graders didn't need much encouraging!  P3220021

They enjoyed every minute of this special concert.  Once the music began, first the Starlings and then the Chickadees came in to listen as well.  A nice but low-key event, this concert highlighted the skills and determination of the band students and the support of their peers.
